Sacred Sri Shaligrama Shila and Lakshmi Shank – Shila picture courtesy of and Valampuri shell picture is courtesy of a private collector in Thailand. Sri Shalagram Sila is a special ammonite formed millions of years ago in the Kali-Gandaki river area of Nepal. Shalagram usually appear externally as water-tumbled stones which may be described as wishing gems (Chintamani). It is also important to note that a genuine Valampuri Lakshmi Shank Conch shell should never be confused with common Whelk shells.
