sorry, I cannot accept that Rama was a perfect husband, particularly when he banished his devoted wife Sita
to forest in an unjust manner. Of course, u can say that Rama was observing only Raj Dharma which gets pecedence over His Dharma towards his wife.Having killed Ravana for which act he took his avatar on this earth,he too should have left for forests along with Sita by giving away his kingdom to Bharat. But Rama did not because he was also hungry for power just as our modern day rulers. The maiming of Surphanaka was equally in bad taste because He or Lakhsman could have acted more nobly towards a lady smitten by amorous thoughts, What they did was what we call in present day parlance ‘road side justice’.The killing of vaali in a cowardly manner was not befitting a great personality whatever pandits say to justify the killing. While Ram displayed some sterling qualities, there are some basic flaws in his character and actions and, in my view, he does not qualify to be called ‘maryada purishottam.’

Thank you for your reply.

mr. murthy u should read sri ramayan first then cm to any conclusion. nd rashtra dharam is always superior to any dharam even matru or pitru dharam. so lord rama tk a wise decision always there is no need to justify u all these thing.

Namaste Amit,

Your post was edited becos it is not nice to say that someone is mentally sick. Such comments are not necessary. It does not make the person feel good. Instead of helping, they may create an unwanted reaction. Anyway, thank you for posting.

Best wishes,
Narasimhaye
