Navaratri the 9 divine
nights of blessings

is the worship of the three divine goddesses, Saraswati (Goddess of learning and
speech), Lakshmi (Goddess of wealth and prosperity), and Durga (Goddess of
strength and courage). It is also said to be the battle that occurred between
Goddess Chaamundeshwari and the asura (demon), Mahishaasura. The battle lasted 9
days and 9 nights. Finally, on the tenth day, Goddess Chaamundeshwari killed
Mahishaasura. This day is known as Vijayadasami. Vijayadasami means the 10th day
of victory.

During the Navaratri or the Nine Nights, the whole of India
adores the Mother and wor¬ships Her with great devotion. On the first three
nights, Durga or the Destructive Aspect of the Mother is worshipped. On the
succeeding three nights, it is the Creative Aspect or Lakshmi that is adored.
And, on the last three nights, the knowledge aspect, or Sarasvati is invoked.
The tenth is the Vijaya Dasami Day or the Day of Victory. There is a special
significance in this arrangement. When the Devi is worshipped by a devotee, She
first destroys the evil propensities that lurk in his mind; then She implants
therein, the Daivi Sampat or the divine qualities conducive to spiritual
unfoldment; then She bestows true knowledge on him; lastly the aspirant attains
liberation or victory over Samsara.

Navaratri is the most suitable
occasion in the year to perform intense Sadhana. These nine days are most
sacred. Just imagine the tremendous wave of spiritual vibration, which should
sweep the land when millions of people, all over the world repeat the names of
the Mother and sing Her glories! All the Devas are ever present in their subtle
forms, where the names of Mother are uttered. They would bless you and help you
on. You will receive valuable assistance from unknown sources, from the Rishis
and Siddhas, if you do intense Sadhana during these nine days.

are 9 forms of Mother Durga wellknown as Navadurga which are to be worshiped
each day with their divine mantra on the occasion of Navaratri.

These 9 divine nights are
very powerful, peoples who are interested to do any sadhana’s to get siddhi, power
and wealth than these 9 nights are very much suitable as these nights contains
very powerfull vibrations.

Worship Divine Mother in all her 9 forms and
gets the boons. As everybody knows that Mother has no limit for boons and when
her childs asks she will shower with all the boons which we never
imagined.Remember these lines from Durga Sapthshati

Devi Sarvabhooteshyu Matru Roopena Samsthtitha Namastasyai  Namastasyai

O Divine Devi who dwells in the hearts of
all beings as Mother I salute Thee.

A child is more familiar with the
mother than the father, because she is very kind, loving, tender, affectionate
and looks after the wants of the child. In the spiritual field also the aspirant
or the devotee—the spiritual child—has intimate relationship with Mother Durga
than with Father Siva. It behoves, therefore, that the aspirant should approach
the Mother first and that She will introduce Her spiritual child to the Father
for his illumination or Self-realisation.

Mother’s grace is boundless.
Her mercy is illimitable. Her knowledge is infinite. Her power is immeasurable.
Her glory is ineffable. Her splendour is indescribable. She gives you Bhukti or
material prosperity and Mukti also (liberation).

Durga Puja (1948) By Sri Swami Sivananda

Narmada Shivaling

is for every common man. Shiva lingas are like fire, Lord Shiva keeps doing
penance – jwaalaagni – the fire of penance blazing all over him & from him –
so, we always keep him cool – he is also called Abhisheka Priya – bathing divine
elements is called Abhisheka in sanskrit. The more you bathe him, the more happy
he is.

Lingam Pooja is done daily with abhishekas (Divine Bathing) with
fresh milk, Fresh Curd, aromatic herbal powders & water chanting the
following mantra :

Light incence and offer dhoop. After bathing the
linga, wipe them gently with a designated cloth – apply some sandal powder
moistened with little water to bring it to a paste form & vermillon. Rudram
chanting pleases Lord Shiva which is either recited or played during the
abhisheka (Divine Bathing).

The above process is the Puja and if done
with a pure heart & consciousness & true aspiration, the Lord will
certainly accept it.

smooth, round pebbles stones found in Narmada river are called “Bana Lingas or
Narmada Shiva Linga”. Omkareshwar, one of the famous 12 Jyotirlingas, is a
beautiful self manifest Linga on the banks of the holy river Narmada.  Several
scriptures extol the virtues of worshipping the Narmada -Linga. What Salagramas
are to Vishnu, the bana-lingas are to Shiva – sacred and self-manifest
representations. If the Salagrama are stones found only in the Gandaki river,
the bana-lingas are stones found only in the Narmada river. The currents of the
Narmada river are very strong and forceful, and the stones are carried from the
rocky river-sides, rendering them smooth and polished. According to
Yajnavalkya-samhita, the bana-lingas obtained in the river Narmada are the very
forms of Siva assumed by the God at the request of Banasura and are therefore
the holiest of objects. Worshipping one bana-linga gets the benefits that can be
procured by worshipping a crore of other lingas. According to scriptures, one
can simply keep them in pooja and worship and there is no need to ceremonially
instal the bana-lingas. They do not require the normal ritual of invocation of
divine presence (avahana) etc, for the divine presence is already there, and
will continue to be there quite independently of any rituals. Its worship is
said to secure worldly welfare as well as emancipation from worldly involvement.
It is therefore claimed that the bana-linga when worshipped is a thousand times
more effective than any other linga.

simple Nandi Puja can be performed by bathing Him with Gangajal (Ganges Water),
rinse with rose water, wipe dry and apply sandalwood paste. Offer incense and
oil lamp. As Nandi is loyal to Lord Shiva, when you chant Om Namah Shivaya,
Nandi is sure to bless you too.

Here’s some other

“One of the important facets of this worship is cleaning
up the Nandi sanctum in the temple. Make sure you do not use any sharp
implements or your finger nails in the cleaning process. Do it with utmost care.

Apply coats of sesame oil and coconut oil to Sri Nandi’s divine frame.
Apply turmeric paste and sandalwood paste and circunambulate Him 108 times. This
is the first part of Nandi worship.

Recite all your improper thoughts,
evil dreams and the like in the ear of Lord Nandi. Whatever secrets you may be
bottling up within yourself, tell them to Sri Nandi. You may be wondering that
if you mention it to any human, it may have adverse effects. You may feel that
you can’t tell it to any soul. That’s ok, but don’t bottle them up inside you;
just reveal all these innermost secrets, irrespective of whether they are good
or bad, to Lord Nandi and request expiation from Him for these improper
thoughts, desires and secrets. Sri Nandeesvara will do the needful and take care
of you.

In the days of yore, people sought expiation for a day’s bad
karma. Thus they did not accumulate any bad karma at all. Because of their
conscientous efforts to lead a karma free life, they were promoted to the post
of pithru devas. We should try to emulate this. Daily Nandi pooja is one of the
ways of achieving this. Make cure you circle Sri Nandi’s sanctum everyday.
According to the Siddhas, this is very important. Lord Nandi is the patron saint
of all bulls everywhere.”

Method of Counting

the counting of beads, should be done after covering the mala. A mala should
always be kept in a cotton bag (Gomukhi). During the counting of beads, the hand
should be inside the gomukhi. While counting mantras the mala should not touch
the ground at any time. There is another method for Japa:

Take a copper
bowl filled with water. Hold half the beads of a mala in the hand and allow the
rest of the beads to remain dipped in the water. Now cover the hand with a cloth
and begin the japa. After completing the japa (reciting mantra), this water
should be sprinkled in the house, the courtyard and then drunk for attaining
happiness and salvation.

Mantra for the attainment of final salvation or
religious perfection should be recited by revolving the rosary with thumbs and
the Index finger (also called Tarjani, i.e. first finger or the finger of
Jupiter). The finger of Jupiter is also used for destroying enemies. Mantras for
peace should be recited with the help of the thumb and second finger (also
called Madhyama or finger of Saturn). For the attainment of mantra siddhi, use
the thumb and third finger or ring finger or finger of the Sun). The thumb is
used for final emancipation. The finger of Jupiter is for prosperities through
trading and business. The finger of Saturn is for wealth and happiness. The
finger of the Sun is for peace. The anamika or finger of Mercury is for all
types of mantras and achieving siddhis. Revolving a rosary with the thumb,
middle and ring finger helps attain peace and mental tranquility.

Meditation with Rudraksha
and other Holy Items

This one question in different forms has been asked in general specific to the
gaining of Samadhi and there is much research that needs to be done by the
individual to be able to first sit in the state of Samadhi in order to
understand the answer.

Is going to be a little difficult trying to
explain by posting here as the state of Samadhi is gained through experiential
knowledge after one has Accomplished the states of Dhaaranaa ……….. the
ability to concentrate on an object …………… that leads one to the next
natural state of Dhayaana ……………… that is the state of Consciousness
where the mind is flowing in an unbroken current toward an object ……….
more on this later however once the mind is flowing in this unbroken current the
state of Samadhi will manifest itself withing the aspirant.

What the
books dont usually tell a person is that the object mentioned can be a physical
object ……… or a visualization …… or a Mantra or series of

There are a number of ways to get to state of Samadhi so am
suggesting that after I try to explain what I have found
…………………… then you go to your Guru for more information or go to
internet and look up the works of Maharishi Patanjali and his teachings on
Patanjalis Sutras …………. The Chapter on Powers …… atha vibhuuti
paadah ………. and the The Chapter on Kaivalya ………. atha kaivalya

There are three stages on the way to Sanyama or One Ness
with an object …….. or what is described as the perfect regulation of Chitta
and Samadhi is only one of the three stages leading up to Sanyama ………. the
purpose of going to state of Samadhi is so that you can practice Sanyama and
introduce intent and purpose at this level to change your life in the relative
work a day life.

So I would suggest that your question be changed to how
to do Sanyama with Parad Shiva Lingam as this is one state beyond Samadhi and is
a state of Ultimate One Ness with the object of intent and purpose.

only detail to you from what I was taught …………. and that is a person
first goes to Samadhi with Mantra ……………. again I have heard also that
sometime visualizations are used in some Meditation Techniques ……………
however a person first needs to know how to meditate and attain Samadhi through
the first three stages of meditation.

Your question was how to get into
with parad Shiva Lingam
however you dont have to stop there if
you wish ………. If you wish you can go one step farther and do Sanyama with
the Parad Siva Lingam ………….. one way I can suggest is that if you use
the Parad Siva Lingam as the object of concentration in your meditation then you
will have to be sitting in Samadhi with eyes open or half closed or totally
closed and then with unbroken concentration worship as you need to by
deliberately introduceing intent and purpose or worshipping with hymns to Lord

Will go through this again in a little different manner
…………… it is stated in texts that Samadhi is one of three states of
Consciousness leading to the aspirant performing Sanyama on an

Again what is not explained in many texts is that the object can
be a physical object or it can be a Mantra ………….. or a series of Mantras
meant to worship your Ishta Devata or other Deities ….. all this leading to a
positive change in the relative field or every day world the meditator is
liveing in ……… However sitting in state of Samadhi is necessary for all
this to Manifest at the will of the Meditator.

Samadhi leads to the
option for the meditator to simply sit in Samadhi or go to the next level of
practiceing Sanyama on an object ….. in your case you would be practiceing
Sanyama on the Parad Siva Lingam if this is what you wished to do.

this place of consciousness in time and space that is called Samadhi is the
Field of All Possibilities ………… and is the culmination of the process of
Dhaaranaa and Dhyaana …..leading to Samadhi …………..

If you know
how to get to Samadhi through meditation then the meditator deliberately
introduces their intent and purpose to this Field of All Possibilities ……..
this is called doing Sanyama on an object with deliberate intent for results and
positive change and this is where the 11 Mukhi Lord Hanuman Rudraksha helps the
wearer as this Holy Rudraksha destroys the obstacles to Meditation and helps
with the yogic practices.

By doing this practice of meditation the
meditator initiates Sanyama on the object of choice …………………. this
choice can be the Accomplishment of the Siddhis and Riddhis as mentioned in the
Holy Books ……… and this is also where the 8 Mukhi Lord Ganesha Rudraksha
helps the meditator to move and remove all obstacles on all levels of

This Field of All Possibilities that can be called the Unified
Field in Physics is also the state of Consciousness from where the missiles are
thrown ……. Missiles that are the Mantras ……… that are the Energy Forms
of the Devas ….. as described in the Ramayana
Balakanda and Vasisthas Dhanurveda Samhita.

If you wish
to read more about the Missiles given to Lord Rama for Protection as mentioned
in the Ramayana Balakanda you can read the book Vasisthas Dhanurveda Samhita in
chapters named Weapons ……….. and Purification of Weapons by Hymns
…………….. and Paasupataastra ………. These books will explain the
Mantra Science of throwing and warding off missiles for protection and the good
of all concerned.

To go over this again ………….. Maharishi
Teaches clearly states that in order to do Samyama
there are three stages of consciousness one must first atttain …….. Samadhi
is only one part of the three.

First in meditation there is
or the ability to concentrate on an object and this is where the
One Mukhi Rudraksha and the 11 Mukhi Rudraksha and 8 Mukhi Rudraksha helps the
wearer to maintain the ability to concentrate on the object

Once the ability to concentrate on an object without
interruption is Accomplished this leads naturally to the state of Dhyaana
where the mind is locked into flowing toward that object in an unbroken current
……… an unbroken current that is not interrupted by any other thoughts
…….. pairs of the 3
Mukhi Lord Agni Rudraksha and 5 Mukhi Kaalagni Rudraksha
help in
this process as these two Holy Beads are credited with destroying past and
present Karma that would interfer with the unbroken current of thought ………
the 3 Mukhi by burning away the thoughts that might break the concentration and
the 5 Mukhi Guru Bead that continually works to calm the fire as the Karma is

Once the process of Dhyaana is Accomplished the aspirant will
naturally gain a state of Samadhi or One Ness with the object of
concentration …….. and again in your case this would be One Ness with the
Parad Siva Lingam and all that it represents.

As different people will
have different techniques to help you with your wanting to sit in Samadhi with
the Parad Siva Lingam ………….. I am hoping this explanation here helps to
clarify a part of Mantra Science that combines Meditation with Rudraksha and
other Holy Items to Accomplish in an accelerated manner for the good of all
